//Clinique + InStyle #StartBetter Event//

I had a chance to get more acquainted with the beauty brand Clinique as well as some great new tips from InStyle magazine’s style expert Tai Beauchamp this weekend at the Clinique + InStyle #StartBetter event. Now I’m no beauty expert, not even in the least bit. Ask me about fashion and I can talk for days, but ask me about makeup and I have absolutely no words. My entire makeup collection fits in the palm of my hand haha! I have a lot to learn but I learned more than I do currently so I guess you can say I’m a work in progress. Talking to Tai Beauchamp was such a pleasure and the tips she gave on living better, staying fabulous, and becoming a better you overall was wonderful! A few of my favorite tips from her included the importance of trying something new on a constant basis and making time for yourself even though life can seem to be so overwhelming at times. Becoming a better you means learning to start everything you do in a better way whether it be with your health, your beauty routine or your wardrobe. #BeBetter #BecomeBetter #StartBetter

After speaking with Tai, I was given a makeover by a makeup artist as well as complimentary juice from this awesome place called “The Juice Bar”.  I let the makeup artist pretty much have the freedom to do whatever she wanted because I didn’t really know what direction to go in as a beginner. After cleaning my face with cleansing milk, this super awesome device that sucks all the dirt out of your skin and cleanses it at the same time called the sonic was used to give my skin a fresh clean base. After letting the make-up artist work her magic, I ended up with a cat-eye that could make anyone stop and stare and a pretty purple/pink lip.  I love the eyeliner and lipstick and would definitely recommend it for beginners like me or any make-up experts and gurus! Overall, I really enjoyed myself! I was even given the cutest little make-up bag (my very first make-up bag that is lol) along with a free mascara!  I plan on going back to pick up a few goodies to add to my delicate little collection!

P.S. The drinks from the juice bar were absolutely amazing! Finding something that is healthy for you and has a great taste is priceless! I tried the “Watermelon (watermelon, mint)” and the “Start Me Up (pineapple, apple, mint)”. The “Start Me Up” was my favorite! It was absolutely delicious! After tasting it my taste buds were like “where have you been all my life, you green goodness?!” - MUST. GET. MORE.

Below I’ve listed all of the products used to make me beautiful, Tai's tips, pictures and more from my fun filled make-up adventure and etc...

 Enjoy!

Faux Fur + Leather

Photos By: Dayna Soar

Hey there everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful christmas! It seems like Dallas just keeps getting colder and colder as the year comes to an end. I absolutely hate cold weather but I love the clothes! Cold weather is the perfect excuse to go absolutely buck-wild and crazy with fur vests and (my personal favorite) leather! You can never have to much leather in my opinion haha! I found this beautiful black, white, and gray fur vest at H&M a little while ago before the weather was super cold and I started to not get it until I saw four other women eye-ing it! It was the last one in my size and I literally had to grab it from a mannequin that was on a ridiculously high shelf with a hanger haha (those days I worked in retail come in handy)! All in all it was worth the trouble! Look at how perfect it looks with my leather lights! :) My beautiful Michael Kors purse was a gift that I was waiting to wear with the perfect outfit! Being warm and cute isn't always easy to do, but I think I did it pretty darn good! What do you think?

you again Ms. Dayna Soar for capturing me and my outfit so beautifully in the photos above! Follow her on instagram: @itsdaynarenee

Something Black Something Blue

Happy December! Hope everyone has had a great holiday season so far! I've been sick for a bit and going through one thing after another but even though it seems I've got 99 problems, an outfit aint one haha! This outfit was a very spur of the moment combination of sporty, easy and fun. Ever had that feeling where you want to wear something comfortable but not too shabby and still super cute all at the same time? Well this outfit is my comfy/not-too-shabby/but-still-super-cute-outfit! My pants are the product of a spur of the moment shopping spree in Rue21 on the quest to find comfy joggers for a road trip. These pants are so comfortable that every time I wear them I never want to take them off! Turns out that the joggers didn't look too bad with heels so that was a huge plus! My "I'm Not Sorry" sweatshirt is from Forever 21 and my absolutely amazing shoes are from JustFab.com! I went to LA for a summer vacay a few years back and I modeled a few shoes from JustFab.com on the news. I was sent a few pairs of shoes from the line as a thank you for modeling! Aren't they just Fabulous?! Lastly, my purse was a treasure I received while working for a company called Dezine News Accessories. A few samples were left over so I was able to get my hands on one of my own! It's ostrich and leather and pretty spacious for it to be so small. The blue matched the blue color in my shoes so I thought it was the perfect accent to complete my outfit! This outfit was so comfortable and easy it's ridiculous! How cute am I?!

Special Shout-Out and Thank you to Ms. Dayna Soar for capturing me and my outfit in the photos above! Follow her on instagram @itsdaynarenee ! #ShesAwesome

Phases Of Fall

Photos By: Dayna Soar

Once again I'm back! Happy November! The phases of fall are finally here! Unfortunately in Texas one day it's fall and the next day it's summer so it can sometimes be a gamble when choosing what to wear.  I call that weird time period the "Phases Of Fall". I've learned that for those crazy summer/fall days mixing pieces that can be worn in both cool fall days or warm summer days that turn into chilly fall nights is the best option. You simply must be prepared for whatever! My shirt is a vintage tunic-like shirt (that I tucked in) courtesy of my wonderful mothers closet! She bought it way-back-when (so afr back when that it has shoulder pads in it lol) but I love the print! My skirt is real leather and it was actually a gift from an old co-worker of mine who was planning to sell it or give it away to whoever wanted it because she couldn't fit it any more, I happened to be the lucky candidate she chose! :) It's perfect for the cool fall days or fall/summer days that aren't scorching hot! My hat is a cross between a fedora and something I could probably find in my grandpa's hat collection. I like the old school feel of it and I've noticed that it always gives an effortless element of cool to everything I usually put it with. My bag is by Antonio Melani and I got it in a giveaway that was held at my job one day. I love Antonio Melani! It's the perfect small purse (it looks really small but it can hold a ton!). I tend to have a random assortment of stuff in my purse 99.9% of the time, so I am in love with the fact that it can contain all the craziness of my everyday lifestyle haha! My bracelets are from Charlotte Russe, they always have good options for stacking bracelets. Last but not least my lovely suede black heels are a recent purchase from Forever 21 and I am so happy I found them because I needed a new good black heel! Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest to find!

Special Thank You to the photographer of my lovely pictures Ms. Dayna Soar! If you aren't following her on instagram what are you doing with your life? #FollowHer #SheIsAmazing #ThankYouDayna

-Until next time ...

This Is For The Cool

Guess who's back ?! Sorry for the wait haha! I just recently started working full time for an awesome fashion company, and for the past two weeks I've been caught up in being a full time fashionista, but the wait is over! I have missed blogging and I couldn't wait to post this outfit! Can I just say that I had so much fun with this look! I LOVE IT!! It's so tomboy chic, comfy, flirty and COOL! The shirt is actually courtesy of my boyfriend's closet lol. It's an extended T-shirt with a zipper detail on the side that I thought was just perfect for me to wear as a dress! The leather hat is courtesy of my boyfriends cousin who got it at a vintage/thrift store and decided that he didn't want it anymore, I have been wanting a leather snapback for the absolute longest and when I tried it on with this dress I was absolutely and completely in love with the edgy factor that it added to the whole outfit. The jewelry I'm wearing is a mix of Aldo, Michael Kors, vintage gold and Charlotte Russe. My purse is also from Charlotte Russe, the gold chain detail was everything with this look! If you can't tell by now I have a serious thing for graffiti walls (Loooovvvveee theeemmm), they seem to make everything pop! The graffiti walls were like the icing on the cake for this look, it gave my pictures that ultimate element of old school effortless cool! Hope you enjoyed this look as much as I enjoyed putting it together, photographing in it and writing about it! Don't you just love fashion? You wake up everyday as a blank canvas and through fashion you paint and draw out the way you want to look and "taaadaaa" two or three outfit changes later a masterpiece has been created from your very own closet and that very masterpiece represents you and who you are in every way possible; from the shirt you wear to the accessories and shoes you choose to put on, everyday you are an invention all your own.

-Happy Inventing!
